Mentions are a useful way to notify or tag someone in posts, comments, or activity updates. They help keep conversations connected and ensure the right people see relevant updates. Here’s how to use mentions effectively and how to remove them if needed.
How to Use Mentions

Type the "@" Symbol:
Start typing the "@" symbol in your post, comment, or update. This activates the mention feature.

Select a Member:
After typing the "@" symbol, start entering the name of the person you want to mention. A dropdown list of matching members will appear. Select the correct name to tag them.

Post Your Update:
Finish your message and click "Post" or "Submit." The mentioned person will be notified and can view your post or comment.
How to Know If Someone Mentions You

Check Notifications:
When someone mentions you, you’ll receive a notification. Check your notifications area to see who mentioned you and in which post or comment.

View the Mention:
Click on the notification to be taken directly to the post or comment where you were mentioned.
How to Remove a Mention

Edit Your Post or Comment:
Navigate to the post or comment containing the mention. Click on the three dots (options menu) next to it and select "Edit."

Delete the Mention:
Locate the mention (e.g.,
@John) in your text. Highlight and delete it as you would with any text. -
Save Your Changes:
Click "Save" or "Update" to finalize the changes. The mention will be removed, and the tagged person will no longer see a notification or link to the post.
What If You Can’t Edit the Mention?
If you’re unable to edit a post or comment due to restrictions, you have the following options:
- Delete the Post or Comment: Remove the entire post or comment and repost it without the mention.
- Contact Support: If removing the mention is urgent and you cannot edit or delete the post, contact the site administrators for assistance.
